INTRODUCING
DEAF-TALK

Deaf and dumb people always miss out the fun that a normal person does, may it be communication, playing computer games, attending seminars or video conferences, etc. Communication is the most important difficulty they face with normal people and also every normal person does not know sign language. The aim of our project is to develop a communication system for the deaf people. The problem we are investigating is sign language recognition. Being able to recognize sign language is an interesting computer vision problem while simultaneously being extremely useful for deaf people to interact with people. We have tried to fill the communication gap between the deaf people and the normal people. In order to do so we thought of an idea to make a system that would be able to identify/recognize different signs performed by a deaf person and then that sign will be fed to a machine-learning algorithm , the algorithm works and translate signs into text so that a normal person can understand what the sign conveys. This would help a lot to make things easier. This is a one way translator from Sign Language to English Text.

There are innumerable amount of signs in ASL. We chose some specific signs that are related to daily life communication and some signs that are emergency related so that if a deaf person is in some sort of emergency he/she can convey his/her message.
